How can I find my child’s class list or class registry?
From the school tool page for parents, enter the name of your child’s school or teacher, and you may optionally select your city and province. You will start to see suggestions as you type. Hit the “Search” button when you’re ready and you will see the class search results page, just select your class, and you’re done!
To find a class registry, go to “find a class registry” page and search by teacher, class or school name.
I can’t find my class. What do I do now?
After searching and refining by your child’s grade on the class search results page, you can do the following if you still can’t find your class:
- Choose the default supply list that we provide, shown as “Not class specific.” This list of products has been selected by the experts at Staples based on the grade of your child.
What’s the difference between Required, Suggested and Optional products on my class supplies list?
Your teacher has chosen the items they consider Required and Suggested; these items are included by default when you find your class. Your teacher may also label some items as Optional (typically items such as scissors or staplers); these items must be selected and chosen by you for purchase.
Note that everything that appears on your supply list is hand-picked by your teacher. No items are mandatory to purchase — even Required items may be removed. The decision to buy any items rests entirely with you.
What if I can’t find my child’s class’s registry?
If you can't find a registry for your child's class, the teacher may not have one with Staples. You can contact the teacher and ask if Staples or another retailer publishes their registry. You can encourage teachers who don't have an online registry to check out Staples.ca and learn about our exciting programs.
How does the ordering process work?
The process could not be easier. Just navigate to your list by entering the name of your school, teacher and city on the main School Tools page and select it from the search results. Choose the products you want and add them to your cart. Then, simply go through the regular Staples.ca checkout process! Your order will soon arrive based on your chosen delivery method.
Can I remove items from the class list?
Parents can deselect any items they don’t want from the class list recommended by teachers. They can also reduce/increase quantity based on their need.
Can I add items not on the class list or class registry to my order?
Yes! You can add any of the over 200,000 products found on Staples.ca to your order, including laptops, printers and even office furniture — anything your child or teacher might need for the class. Please note that items not added through your teacher’s School Tools list are excluded from the "Buy More, Save More" discount.
Can I buy partial quantities of an item in the registry?
Currently, we do not support buying partial quantities of a product in the registry. For example, if two quantities of an item are requested—you are required to purchase both.
Is there a warranty on supplies I buy through Staples School Tools?
All school supplies sold through Staples School Tools come with a 1 school-year guarantee. Should any item fail prematurely or be unsatisfactory, we will replace that item throughout the entire school year. Satisfaction is guaranteed for schools and parents alike. If you have any problems at all, contact us at your local Staples store and we’ll fix it. Other non-school related items purchased are subject to Staples regular return policy.
