The expiration date for any coupon, deal, promotion or offer will always be clearly explained in the fine prints. Prices found in the weekly flyer are only good for the week specified, unless otherwise noted -- please click HERE to gain access to the weekly flyer.
If you do not see this information, can you please contact us HERE or via chat by clicking HELP at the bottom right, and please provide us with the email or a photo of the coupon so we can look further into this. You can also reach out to us by phone at 1888-STAPLES (782-7537).
How do Staples coupons and rebates contribute to the Staples price match?
All coupons and rebates (including Staples dollars off, gift checks, and mail-in rebates, and instant savings) are deducted from the price of the Staples product when calculating a price match.
When calculating a price match, we’ll deduct any available Staples coupons and/or Staples Rebates (dollars off, instant savings, and mail-in rebate) from the Staples price to arrive at a net price. For example, if you buy an item from us for $200, and there is a $20 instant savings, the net price is $180. If another company’s price is $180 or more, the price match will not be approved as the Staples price is equivalent or better. Another example: If you buy an item from us for $159 and you have a coupon for $25 off a $100 order, as well as a $20 mail-in rebate, the net price is $114. If another company’s price is $110, your price match savings would be $4.
I used a coupon on my order. Why was it applied to multiple items?
The coupon is normally applied to the main shipment, so this may result in seeming like the coupon was not applied properly when there are multiple shipments on your order. Once all items are delivered, the total charge(s) you should see on your method of payment should reflect the correct final amount.
Keep in mind that we apply the taxes after a coupon has been added.
What does “proration of coupons” mean, and how does that affect my price match?
Proration of coupons means that the dollars-off coupons (e.g., Staples coupons, rewards, gift checks) are proportionally deducted from the prices of items in an order.
The prorated discount from all coupons on the order will be used when calculating Staples’ price. The application of coupons can mean a specific purchase won’t qualify for price match. Similarly, a purchase that has a price match discount may no longer be eligible for a coupon if the adjusted order total no longer meets the minimum requirements of the coupon.
